  • The U.S. House will vote on articles of impeachment next week. The two articles submitted by Democrats are abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Democrats are expected to approve while most Republicans are expected to vote against them. We talked to Republican Congressman Paul Mitchell of Michigan’s 10th Congressional District about his assertion that President Trump’s actions in connection with the withholding of military aid to Ukraine do not constitute impeachable conduct. On Monday, we’ll hear from Democrat Rep. Elissa Slotkin on her thoughts about impeachment .

  • This week the shoemaker Wolverine Worldwide reached a tentative settlement with townships near Rockford, Michigan. It amounts to more than $69 million dollars to connect township residents with municipal water systems. Many homes in the area found their private wells were contaminated with toxic PFAS after material was put in a nearby dump decades ago. We talked to Michigan Radio reporter Bryce Huffman about the terms of the settlement and how residents are reacting.

That was the case for Lester Graham when Stateside producer Mercedes Mejia scheduled an interview for him with the band A L’afrique. The world music band’s album Payday mixes the sounds of Detroit, New Orleans, and Ghana. Lester said it ended up being one of the best interviews he did as a host for Stateside.
