The House of Representatives voted 232 to 197, Wednesday to impeach President Donald Trump for "high crimes and misdemeanors" — specifically, for inciting an insurrection against the federal government at the U.S. Capitol.
Trump has now become the first U.S. president to be impeached twice. Wednesday's vote came a week after Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in a chaotic scene that left several people dead.
Ten Republicans broke party ranks to vote in favor of impeachment.
Among those Republicans were Michigan Representatives Peter Meijer (R - MI-3) and Fred Upton (R - MI-6).
Meijer and Upton tweeted earlier today:

An impeachment trial will not begin before President-elect Joe Biden is sworn in on January 20.
