Initiative aims to help guide state to cleaner energy

wikipedia

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has launched a new initiative to guide the state's transformation to cleaner energy. It's called MI Power Grid.

The Michigan Public Service Commission is in charge of the initiative.

MPSC Chair Sally Talberg says part of MI Power Grid will be focused on energy customers, to help them benefit from the transition, and reduce their energy use and costs.

"Helping customers understand what options are available, and how to best meet their needs," says Talberg, "but also having customers and the voice of the customers be a part of this process as we shape new programs going forward."

The initiative will also look at ways to integrate clean energy into the state's infrastructure, as well as ways to finance the changes.

People can sign up for updates from MI Power Grid, and learn about rate cases involving the integration of clean energy into the grid.
